Thank You for Bidding with Us
April Fine Art & Antiques Auction
This past Saturday, we held our latest April Fine Art & Antiques Auction to great success. Our team worked hard to keep a steady pace throughout the day, and we managed to complete the sale of all 400 lots in just under six hours. Despite the quick pace, we pulled in an astonishing $224,000 USD for the day.
We were impressed with the results for many of our lots, most notably that of a pair of Buddhist thangkas, which far exceeded its high estimate of $400 with an incredible hammer price of $20,000. Several lots were unexpectedly abuzz with bids, including a small Mughal style jade bowl that sold for $5,000 and the metal etching “Oba Akai” by Bruce Onobrakpeya, whose hammer price of $1,600 far outperformed its high estimate of $250. And of course, our star lots performed marvelously: the book of Japanese woodblock prints by Toyokuni sold for $7,500, the 18K gold bamboo bracelet sold for $2,500, and the 1971 abstract oil on canvas by Witold Kaczanowski sold for $2,500.
On behalf of everyone at Oakridge, we would like to thank all of our bidders for participating in our auction. We are especially grateful to our clients for their cooperation and understanding as we continue to operate during the Covid-19 pandemic - thank you for helping us keep our clients and staff safe and healthy!
