Doug Dawson (American, b. 20th century), pastel on masonite painting, titled "Dona Teresa." Signed on the face of the board and signed and titled on reverse. Dimensions are: site size: 46 inches (116.8 cm) tall X 40 inches (101.6 cm) wide;frame: 48 inches (121.9 cm) tall X 42 inches (106.7 cm) wide. All measurements are approximate. Artist Biography: Doug Dawson was born in Oak Park, IL and graduated with arts degrees from both Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota andDrake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He has exhibited widely across the United States and won numerous accolades for his pastel painting. A lifelong teacher, Dawson helped found The Art Students League of Denver, where he presentlyteaches Plein Air and Studio Landscape classes. His artistic excellence has merited him the title of Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America (NY, NY) in 1985 and Master Circle by the International Association of Pastel Societies in2005 (California). In 2008 he was inducted into the Pastel Society of America’s Hall of Fame. He continues to practice his art in his home in Colorado.
