Peter Lewis Krider (American, 1821-1895), operated as P L Krider and Co. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from 1859-1870. String holder dates to that period. Engraved PH in an ornate typeface. Stamped on bottom with Sterling and P.L. KriderCo. Dimensions: 3 1/2 inches tall X 3 5/8 inches diameter at base; 8.89 cm tall X 9.2 cm diameter at base. Weight: 5.38 ozt.
